About the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the Ambassador of the PRC

On April 28, 2026, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan, Ji Shumin. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the practical implementation of agreements reached at the state and governmental levels in March–April of the current year.

In particular, it was emphasized that, when considering the prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and the PRC, priority areas of bilateral partnership were identified in the gas sector, transport and logistics, as well as in the production of mineral fertilizers.

In this context, the diplomats exchanged views on the forms and content of upcoming joint work aimed at implementing projects in the above-mentioned areas.

At the same time, the high importance of cooperation in the social sphere was noted, primarily in such areas as education, science, and healthcare.

The parties agreed to continue their political and diplomatic dialogue on the implementation of instructions from the leadership of both countries on a regular and systematic basis.
