Views exchanged on cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations

On 12 August 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Xiaojun Grace Wang.

The interlocutors discussed priority areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations, as well as issues related to further coordination and practical cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to upcoming joint events and the promotion of Turkmenistan’s international initiatives within the framework of the UN. The relevance of joint efforts to ensure environmental sustainability and preserve the Caspian Sea was also emphasized.
